The belly shoes worn by men were called Pompes, but sluggishly men stopped wearing them, and women listed towards the high heel sandals that give them more height and better poise. The main difference between belly shoes and defile shoes is the absence of heels in the belly shoes compared to defile shoes which come in different heel sizes.
